Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

This manual helps you how to connect to the university network with a wireless internet

connection on a computer within reach of a WiFi wireless access point.

What do you need?

  • A computer that is able to connect to wireless networks.
  • An employee or student account of Maastricht University.

This manual assumes you are making use of a computer with OS Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Please consult the “Frequently Asked Questions” at the end of the manual in case you encounter problems in using the manual or the service.

Step 1:

  • Select the menu ‘Settings’.

 

Step 2:

  • Select the menu ‘System Settings’.
Step 3:

  • Select the menu ‘Network’.
Step 4:

  • Select the wireless network ‘eduroam’.

 

Step 5:In the screen that appears, enter the
information as shown in the screenshot.
CA certificate:
Select the ‘AddTrust_External_Root’
certificate in /etc/ssl/certs
Username: username@unimaas.nl (e.g.
user.name@unimaas.nl or
i1234567@unimaas.nl)
Password: fill in the password for
your UM account
Select ‘connect’.
