Create a VPN connection in Mac OS

MAC OS X Yosemite or El Capitan, Cisco anyconnect

This manual helps you to create a VPN connection in Mac OS X

What do you need?

  • A mac with at least Yosemite OS X
  • An internet connection
  • Cisco anyconnect client software
  • A UM account

Please consult the “Frequently Asked Questions” at the end of the manual in case you encounter problems in using the manual or the service.

Step 1:

  • Go to vpn.maastrichtuniversity.nl
  • Fill in your UM credentials and click on Login

 

Step 2:

  • The webbased installer will fail and ask you to download the file manually
  • Click on Mac OS X 10.8+ (Intel)
  • The file will be downloaded.
Step 3:

  • Open the VPN.PKG in downloads
Step 4:

  • In the installer you need to click on continue
Step 5:

  • Click on Agree and Continue
Step 6:

  • Fill in your Administrator credentials for Mac
  • Click on Install Software
Step 7:

  • After installing the software you may click on Close
Step 8:

  • Start the Cisco Anyconnect Secure Mobility Client in Launchpad or in the Finder under Applications
Step 9:

  • Fill in the server in the screen that pops up and click on Connect
  • vpn.maastrichtuniversity.nl
Step 10:

  • Fill in your UM credentials and click on OK
