Android WiFi

What do you need?

  • An Android Smartphone
  • A Maastricht University student or employee account.

In this manual we use an Android v4.0.3 (IceCreamSandwich) device which has no configured WiFi connections yet.

Please consult the “Frequently Asked Questions” at the end of the manual in case you encounter problems in using the manual or the service.

Step 1: go to settings

  • Tap the ‘Applications’ icon in the home screen.
  • Then tap ‘Settings’ icon.

 

Step 2: select wireless

  • Go to ‘Wireless and network’.

 

Step 3: Make sure WiFi is enabled.

  • You will see the networks within reach of
    the device.
  • Select the network needed:Employees use UMnetStudents use eduroam
Step 4: Fill in credentials and check certificate settings

  • In the next screen you see, you need to fill in the following information:
  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA certificate: (unspecified)
  • User certificate: (unspecified)
  • Identity:
    studentid@unimaas.nl and password
  • userid and password
  • Tap Connect
  • You are now connected
